We can work from almost any file format, but prefer Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign for Mac or PC.

4. Upload to your own FTP site - send us a link to your FTP site or user name and password for us to access your FTP site directly.

File Basics

PMS Colors - Our software will best match a PMS color if it is spected as a spot color in your file. If colors are done as a CMYK mix, we will not be able to match your print out, as all printers interprete colors differently .

Fonts and Links - Please include all fonts and links with your file. If you convert all text to outlines, you will ensure correct printing output but, we will not be able to make any changes to your text.

PDF Files

We can print from your HiRes PDF file with crops and bleeds, but prefer to use a native file with fonts and links included in order to assure acurate color matches and high quality printing. We canšt make changes to your PDF. Please include a LowRes PDF for content reference only.

Image Resolution

When we talk about resolution, it is always the resolution at the final size of your print. If you place your 150DPI image into a file that is set up at 1/4 or 1/2 size then you must divide by 2 or 4. This will produce a final print size of 75 DPI or 37.5 PDI. Viewing distance also comes into play when you are checking resolution. The further away you are from an image , the lower the resolution can be. For example, if your are printing a large banner that is going to be hung 20 ft. above the ground, a resolution of 50 DPI will be acceptable.

Most of our devices: 100-150 DPI at final size 200-300 DPI at final size for lightjet prints

Proofs

We recommend a proof on all orders where you have quality concerns. Proofs are printed on the same device and usually the same material as your final project. (Flatbed is the exception - proofs are printed on card stock rather than specified substrate) We offer 2 types of proofs.

Strip proof at full size - This takes a section of your file and is printed at final output size. This will show you exactly what the final will look like in terms of color and resolution.

Full image reduced size proof - This is your entire file printed at a much reduced size. This is used for content and color.
